In the state of California, degree-granting authority comes from the Bureau for Private Post Secondary and Vocational Education. California Southern University (CalSouthern), established in 1978, is approved under the Education Code of the state of California to offer degree programs and confer the appropriate degrees to students who meet the corresponding graduation requirements.

The Committee of Bar Examiners (CBE) of the State Bar of California has authorized registration of the School of Law as an unaccredited correspondence law school, which enables graduates who have complied with the Rules Regulating Admission to Practice Law in California to sit for the California Bar examination.

United States Department of Veterans Affairs United States Department of Veterans Affairs

California Southern University is approved by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) to offer its programs to veterans who qualify for educational benefits under the DVA Chapter 31 Vocational Rehabilitation Benefits program. This program applies to our Associate, Bachelor and Master degree programs. Veterans who believe they may qualify for Chapter 31 benefits should contact their VA office for details.
