The objective of the School of Law is to inform individuals about the law and its effects on society. There is a strong focus on encouraging individuals to serve society’s legal needs with integrity and ethical values. Enrollment into the CalSouthern School of Law marks the beginning of a journey that takes the student to new and different areas of knowledge, new ways of thinking, and new ways of presenting your ideas.

CalSouthern’s superior law program will help JD graduates prepare to gain entry into this honorable profession and will give MSL graduates a solid foundation of legal knowledge.

School of Law

The study of law has always attracted individuals of great ability. Few professions demand as much in the development of one's intellectual powers and self-discipline as law. A primary purpose of the Juris Doctor (JD) degree is to provide the education and professional training for those who wish to become lawyers.

The School of Law is registered with the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California as an unaccredited correspondence law school. This allows graduates of our JD program who have complied with Title 4, Division 1 of the Rules of the State Bar of California to sit for the California Bar Exam.

The California Committee of Bar Examiners requires the CalSouthern School of Law to refer all prospective students, applicants, and current JD students to the required disclosures. Please click here to review the disclosure.

The Master of Science in Law (MSL) program is designed for students who seek an understanding of the law and the American legal system but who do not intend to practice law. Students in the MSL program are required to earn 36 semester credits, all of which must be completed through California Southern University. The MSL program curriculum covers the major substantive areas of U.S. law. Students enrolled in the MSL program will NOT satisfy the requirements of the California Committee of Bar Examiners or become eligible to sit for the California bar exam and become lawyers.

The California Committee of Bar Examiners requires that CalSouthern refer all prospective students and applicants to the required disclosures. Please click here to review the disclosure.
