CalSouthern’s faculty mentors are talented, highly credentialed educators who are also experienced practitioners in the subject areas in which they teach—and they use that practical experience to help learners apply the concepts they learn to current, real-world issues.

A common misconception about online learning is that it is impersonal, that learners are on their own. At CalSouthern, that could not be further from the truth. Faculty mentors get to know their students and provide one-on-one, personalized feedback on their assignments. They are also available by email, phone or Skype to answer their questions or provide any additional support or guidance they might need.

Dr. Donna DiMatteo-Gibson is a management consultant who works with organizations to improve organizational effectiveness and e-learning, and also assists in change efforts. As a management consultant, trainer and educator, she brings a balanced perspective to understanding the complexities of organizational effectiveness and e-learning through research and practice. She also is an online professor who facilitates classes at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Dr. DiMatteo-Gibson also develops online course content, serves on doctoral research committees and mentors students. Finally, she develops and conducts training for online faculty that teach in different disciplines. She presents regularly at conferences across the country, including SIOP, Sloan-C, E-Learn and SITE.
