CalSouthern Alumni Achieve Great Things!

Graduates of CalSouthern are strong and caring mental health clinicians, innovative business leaders and skilled attorneys and judges. Many have received commendation and awards for their work.

They are also respected authors and scholars. Each year, CalSouthern graduates publish books and scholarly articles, and present their work at conferences both nationwide and internationally. And each year, a CalSouthern graduate’s outstanding doctoral research is recognized with the presentation of the President’s Award for Doctoral Project Excellence. Past winners have focused their research on interpersonal neurobiology, the efficacy of mind-body interventions among traumatized adolescents and the development of a sustainable mental health system in post-earthquake Haiti, among other topics.

The CalSouthern Difference Award was established in 2012 to recognize some of this selfless work. Past winners have included a PsyD graduate who has helped more than 15,000 incarcerated men, women and children develop positive decision-making skills and another who has devoted his professional life to the prevention of child sexual abuse. An MLS alumnus is a two-time Arizona Judge of the Year whose tireless volunteer work and committee service has improved the administration of justice on the local, state and national levels.
