Frequently Asked Questions Regarding the Navy Tuition Assistance Reimbursement Program

Q: What do I need to do once I've completed a course from CalSouthern?

A: Once you have completed your course and received an official grade from the university, you need to fax or mail a scanned copy of your grade to NETPDTC TA Accounting N8131. The fax number is (850) 452-1149. The address for mailing your form is:

Commanding Officer
NETPDTC TA Accounting N8131
6490 Saufley Field Road
Pensacola, FL 32509-5241

Q: Do I need to be on active duty to use any of my credits earned from former military training?

A: No. CalSouthern will review all military training and previous earned credits to determine what can be used. We will do our best to maximize all approved credits earned and apply them to your degree program at CalSouthern.

Q: Besides my Navy military training and experience, what else can be applied as transfer credit toward the degree I want to pursue?

A: The university will evaluate any previously completed college coursework (a grade of "C" or better is required) for transfer credit, when applicable. We will also evaluate any certifications taken (e.g., MSCE, MCP, and DSST examinations) as well as work experience prior to, during, or after your service in the Navy.

Q: What if I need to withdraw from a course due to unforeseen military obligations such as deployment?

A: You will first need to contact CalSouthern and officially withdraw from the course. You'll then need to fax your official cancellation paperwork to your Navy College Office. Your Unit Commander can write a letter to NETPDTC N8131 confirming the reason why you are not able to continue with your education at CalSouthern and that you should not be held responsible for paying back any of the Navy tuition assistance that you have used.
