The faculty mentors in CalSouthern’s School of Business are experienced business professionals as well as dedicated, responsive and highly credentialed educators.

They will be there for you—via phone, email or Skype—to answer any questions you may have and to help you master the course material. And, equally important, they will help you take the concepts you learn and apply them to resolve challenges commonly faced in today’s increasingly complex and globalized business world, using the latest best practices.

Patricia Phillips, DSc

Areas of Interest and Expertise
Business issues in software development applications, best-in-class improvements for project management functions in corporations
Dr. Phillips has over 25 years of IT systems development and management experience. She has extensive knowledge of banking software applications including a variety of cash-management applications. She has broad experience on many different systems platforms such as mainframe, midrange and distributed environments. She has been exposed to all phases of system development including planning, design, construction, testing, implementation and support. She holds a Project Management Professional credential from the Project Management Institute. She also attained a certification as a Certified Treasury Professional from the Association of Financial Professionals. With her extensive industry experience, she understands first-hand what skills learners need to develop in order to succeed in the business world. She sees a great need for learners to gain knowledge of how to analyze problems, identify alternatives and ascertain ways to mitigate risks in order to accomplish a goal. She also sees the need for learners to become skilled at clearly articulating their ideas to others with varying levels of experience. She receives great satisfaction from helping others grow and achieve their goals through learning.
