Mr. Canseco is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). He is also a Practitioner Faculty Member at Johns Hopkins University where he teaches Federal Taxation Policy. He is admitted to the Maryland Court of Appeals and The United States Tax Court.
As a CPA, Certified Financial Planner and Attorney, Leonardo A. Canseco has over twenty years of experience in researching and providing creative solutions to complicated business and individual tax cases. He has represented clients involved in tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service and State/Local tax authorities. Mr. Canseco helped form a coalition that drafted proposed tax legislation leading to the inclusion of retirement planning provisions in Section 665 of the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001.

Mr. Coulter is presently the Assistant District Attorney in charge of the Central Justice Center for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, which is responsible for handling all of the general misdemeanor and felony cases for the Central Orange County jurisdiction. He started his career as a prosecutor in the Riverside D.A.’s office before transferring to Orange County in 1989. He has handled thousands of criminal cases while serving in a number of different assignments in the office, including heading the Training Division, which is responsible for the training all of the attorney’s, paralegals and investigators in the office.
He holds a Juris Doctorate Degree from Pepperdine Law School and Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Southern California. In addition to his work as a Deputy District Attorney, he instructs police officers in the areas of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault laws. Finally, he mentors students at California Southern Law School in the areas of: Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Evidence.

Ms. Cuffie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the District of Columbia in 1981. She then went on to pursue law receiving her Masters in Legal Studies from Antioch College of Law in 1983. She enrolled in and successfully completed the Juris Doctorate Program at the Washington College of Law (American University) in 1989 while working full time with the Department of Justice – Administrative Office for U.S. Attorneys.
Ms. Cuffie has 22 years of federal service working in various legal offices (real property, criminal law, civil and civil rights division and the Maryland General Assembly). While employed with the Federal government, Ms. Cuffie received over 20 awards for outstanding performance. Ms. Cuffie opened her own private law practice in 1993, where she remains active today. Ms. Cuffie also teaches business-related courses at the Human Resources Institute, a privately owned corporation that is contracted to teach government employees and contractors.
In 2007, Ms. Cuffie implemented a National Health Awareness Program for seniors that has now grown to include all individuals. She has been instrumental in establishing training programs for women and children in foreign countries in the health and entrepreneurial field. Her current goal is to build two schools in Accra Ghana, West Africa in an area where there are no schools for the existing children to attend. She holds a Ph.D in Theology and is the author of four books on spiritual leadership.

Jeffrey Fazio is General Counsel for California Southern University and has served as Dean of Law for CalSouthern. He was previously in private practice, earning his J.D. from the Washington and Lee University School of Law and an LL.M. in Taxation from the Golden Gate University School of Law. His areas of specialization are taxation, intellectual property, and contracts. He is admitted to practice in California and Texas and is a member of the American Bar Association.

Mathilde L. Genovese is a lawyer licensed in the States of California, Florida, Georgia and Illinois and focuses her practice on transactional and intellectual property matters. Ms. Genovese began her legal career as a trial attorney with the National Labor Relations Board and the Federal Labor Relations Authority. She then moved to Hong Kong where she practiced intellectual property with Baker & McKenzie and was recruited to serve as general counsel for a conglomerate with the largest foreign investment in China and business interests in Asia, Europe and the U.S involving finance, manufacturing, entertainment, agriculture and tourism. She later formed her own consulting company in Hong Kong and was Of Counsel to Tilleke & Gibbins ROP (“T&G”), the oldest and largest independent law firm in Thailand, where she devised investment and exit strategies for companies interested in investing in Vietnam and served as T&G’s Vietnam Resident Director and Chief Strategist.
Upon her return to the U.S., Ms. Genovese handled clearance, copyright, anti-piracy, split rights, licensing and international royalties’ issues for a major studio in Hollywood. She has negotiated and drafted a broad range of agreements including private placement memoranda, licensing, confidentiality, restricted stock, commercial leases, development and cooperation agreements, loans, terms and conditions, nondisclosure, management, employment, independent contractor and work for hire agreements. She also provides guidance on HIPAA privacy and security issues. Her intellectual property practice is concentrated in trademark and copyright protection, licensing, domain name disputes and intellectual property and forensic accounting audits.
Ms. Genovese conducts due diligence investigations and arbitration and mediation proceedings. She also prepares appellate briefs. She was a contract writer for nine months for Bloomberg LP’s newly launched Intellectual Property Law Report. Her clients include manufacturing, entertainment, home health care, manufacturing, medical, engineering and real estate development companies.
She has lectured extensively on a broad range of legal and business issues. In 2004, she was invited by the Glendale, CA chapter of Women in Film to lecture on Copyright, Licensing & Video Piracy. Ms. Genovese co-instructed Negotiation of Intellectual Property and Business Matters and Cross Cultural Negotiations at the Franklin Pierce Law Center, Concord, New Hampshire in 1999. From 1990 -1995, she was invited by the University of Southern California to lecture at their annual Asia Pacific Business Outlook Conference. She was also a guest lecturer on doing business in Hong Kong from 1988 -1991 for The Institut Superieur de Gestion.

Christine M. Greene is the Director of Legal Programs for the Neighborhood Legal Services Program in Washington, DC. She currently practices domestic relations law and is also experienced in immigration and post-conviction law. She has represented clients before the Court of Appeals of Maryland, the U.S. District Court of Maryland, and the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
Christine is a passionate family advocate with a solid record of winning positive results for her clients, many of whom are traditionally underrepresented in the court system. Christine also served on the board of the Rappahannock Council for Children and Parents (RACCAP), a nonprofit organization that promotes positive parenting and the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
Christine earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Virginia and her J.D. from the Washington and Lee University School of Law. She co-authored the article, “African American Family Life: The Dynamics of Interactions, Relationships, and Roles,” which is published in New Directions for Child and Adolescent Development 1995:68, 5.
Christine is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and the U.S. District Court District of Maryland.

In 2001, Ms. Iler graduated from UCLA with a B.A in Political Science. Ms. Iler attended Notre Dame Law School where she obtained her JD. After law school, Ms. Iler worked briefly as a public defender before accepting an associate position at a firm in Los Angeles. In civil practice, Ms. Iler specialized in complex civil litigation and litigation relating to government contracts and other regulated industries. Ms. Iler enjoys teaching and is looking forward to helping CalSouthern’s law students on their journey.

Ms. Katsarov received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California in 1977. In the mid 1980s she attended Western State College of Law in Fullerton and received her Juris Doctorate in 1989. In 1991, Ms. Katsarov was hired by Riverside County, County Counsel's Office, where she was assigned to the Riverside County Juvenile Court, representing the Department of Public Social Services, Child Protective Services in Dependency cases. She was to remain in that position for the next 19 years until her recent retirement in 2010. Ms. Katsarov is currently passing on her expertise in the area of juvenile law as a trainer for the Public Child Welfare Training Academy and she serves as Judge Pro Tem in San Diego County Juvenile Dependency Court.

Rita Melnyk has over ten years of experience as an attorney for the Department of Homeland Security, formerly the Immigration and Nationality Service. She is currently counsel in the law firm of USAsia Law Group. She finds immigration to be a very interesting and intellectually challenging area of law. Attorney Neff has been teaching throughout his legal career and has continued to do so in Florida where he now resides. He is certified as a Florida State Mediator at the County Court Level.
Attorney Neff has taught legal subjects at the Pasco-Hernando Community College and was a member of the Legal Advisory Committee for the Paralegal Program.
As a Charter Member of the Bio-Ethics Committee for the Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Pont, Florida, he participated in the Committee’s work and lectured on issues of public interest in the Medical-Ethical-Legal Areas.
He is a twice-published author of Medical-Ethical text material.
As an Educator, Attorney Neff has long been an advocate of Long Distance Learning and feels this is a most important means of achieving education and serves the public at large very well. He is proud of his long service with California Southern University and the contributions to improvement that have been made in a never ending quest to reach for the sky.

Sylvia Paoli is retired from over 30 years of active practice in law, primarily as an appellate lawyer. She was partner at the law firm Paoli & Paoli which she started in 1977. She practiced in the fields of probate, aviation law, and business organization and contracts. She published several articles in law journals and taught a writing course for Bar candidates for over 20 years. The highlight of her career was freeing an innocent man from prison through the appellate processes after the direct appeals failed. She graduated at the top of her law school class at Western State University College of Law in California. Her first career was as a concert pianist and teacher and she is also a licensed pilot with her own plane.

Bill Roden began his professional career as a college English instructor until he had the idea to enter law school. He graduated from The Thomas M. Cooley Law School, now the largest one in the country. He became a practicing attorney in Michigan and Wisconsin and a part-time military attorney or Judge Advocate General. He retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserve. This experience also gave him the chance to teach at the US Army Judge Advocate General’s School at the University of Virginia.
For almost a decade, he was in-house counsel for one of the largest community- technical colleges in the states, Milwaukee Area Technical College. He later oversaw forty-two campuses of the Louisiana Technical Colleges.
Bill spent four and a half years in the Middle East in the United Arab Emirates. He led two campuses of the Institute of Applied Technology in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Bill enjoys teaching and is dedicated to the teaching and learning process here at California Southern University.

Toni Schwartz currently practices in the areas of employment law and human resources. She has performed work both in the capacity of an outside consultant as well as in-house for organizations on a variety of employment related issues exclusively in the area of employment defense. She also has SPHR (Senior Professional Human Resources) certification which allows her to better assist clients in this area.
Additionally, she counsels clients in transactional law including but not limited to the preparation, review and revision of various legal agreements and other documents.
She has performed work in a variety of industries including alarm security, financial services and insurance defense. Upon first graduating from Law School, she worked as an Assistant District Attorney.

Diana is a practicing attorney specializing in Family Law. She passed the California Bar Exam on her first attempt and was admitted to the California State Bar Association in December of 2006. Diana has clients throughout the LA basin and appears in Orange, Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. Diana has worked for the Law Offices of Catherine Lombardo, the Law Office of Margerie Youdath, and is currently with the Law Offices of Alphonse F. Provinziano. Diana is a member of the Western Bar Association of San Bernardino and was a member and officer of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, as well as a member and officer of Kappa Sigma Delta.
