CalSouthern’s faculty mentors are talented, highly credentialed educators who are also experienced practitioners in the subject areas in which they teach—and they use that practical experience to help learners apply the concepts they learn to current, real-world issues.

A common misconception about online learning is that it is impersonal, that learners are on their own. At CalSouthern, that could not be further from the truth. Nick Lazaris, PsyD

For 32 years, Dr. Lazaris has specialized in providing consulting, coaching and speaking services to business professionals, performing artists, writers and athletes. He focuses on helping his clients develop the ability to perform at or near their personal best regardless of their fears or anxieties.

In addition to his private practice as a clinical psychologist, where he specializes in helping clients with anxiety and panic disorder, Dr. Lazaris maintains an active performance coaching practice and is the author of From Panic to Peace; Stress, Resiliency and Taking Control of Your Life; The Assertive Communicator; and his upcoming book, Creating an Outrageous Life.

He is the creator of the continuing education program for psychologists, The Practice of Performance Psychology as well as several audio and video learning programs. He has received the Bronze Microphone Award of the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Speakers Association, and regularly speaks and consults on topics related to performance enhancement, work-life balance, overcoming fear/anxiety, leadership development and helping entrepreneurs and business professionals develop their careers with less stress and more balance.

Dr. Lazaris loves to travel and enjoys the privilege of speaking on cruise ships as a cultural historian of various parts of the world. Finally, and most importantly, he and his wife of 30 years are blessed with two wonderful and talented children.
