CalSouthern’s faculty mentors are talented, highly credentialed educators who are also experienced practitioners in the subject areas in which they teach—and they use that practical experience to help learners apply the concepts they learn to current, real-world issues.

A common misconception about online learning is that it is impersonal, that learners are on their own. At CalSouthern, that could not be further from the truth. Faculty mentors get to know their students and provide one-on-one, personalized feedback on their assignments. They are also available by email, phone or Skype to answer their questions or provide any additional support or guidance they might need.

Robert Gulbro, DBA

Bio
After working several years in industry and consulting, Dr. Gulbro returned to school to earn his DBA in Management and Marketing from Mississippi State.  Prior to attending State he earned his BS and MBA from the University of Alabama.  In addition to his position as Faculty Mentor at CalSouthern, he teaches management, marketing and leadership at the University of Maryland University College, Argosy University, and the Florida Institute of Technology.  He has also taught at Athens State University and Jacksonville State University.  Other educational activities Include the supervision of  dissertations at Nova Southeastern University and for Argosy University. 
 
Dr. Gulbro has published numerous articles in journals and has been active as a journal editor.  He is a past president of the Association for Small Business (ASBE).  He is a Professor Emeritus at Athens State University.  His past activities include serving as a mediator for the State of Alabama, as a consultant to various businesses and government agencies and developing HR policies for these organizations.
 
He is an avid traveler, having made recent trips to Savannah, Charleston, Gatlinburg, and Destin, FL.  His next trip will be to Cancun, Mexico.  He enjoys reading fiction and mystery novels.  He especially enjoys working with students and seeing them succeed in education and in life.
