The faculty mentors in CalSouthern’s School of Business are experienced business professionals as well as dedicated, responsive and highly credentialed educators.
They will be there for you—via phone, email or Skype—to answer any questions you may have and to help you master the course material. And, equally important, they will help you take the concepts you learn and apply them to resolve challenges commonly faced in today’s increasingly complex and globalized business world, using the latest best practices.

Bruce Gillies, PsyD
Areas of Interest and Expertise
Dr. Bruce Gillies is a 22-year Navy veteran. He served onboard aircraft carriers as an aircraft servicer, in the personnel office of several ships and shore stations, worked as a gas turbine engineer on destroyers, and as a career counselor for several command both large and small. Retiring as Master Chief Petty Officer, Dr. Gillies went on to serve in the Department of the Navy as a Senior Transition Program Specialist at the Navy Personnel Command in Memphis, Tennessee. He also had the opportunity to serve as an adjunct faculty member for a small college in Memphis. After teaching a few courses, he was offered a full-time faculty position and has been a professor for the past 11 years.
Dr. Gillies has developed many online classes in business, psychology, and areas that combine both such as Behavior in Organizations, Organizational Leadership, Motivation and Compensation. Additionally, he has taught classes in both online and traditional classroom settings since 1995.
He is a member of the National Career Development Association and the International Leadership Association.
