CalSouthern aspires to create a community built on innovation, creativity, collaboration, and inclusion. Our collective success depends on the vigorous exchange of ideas—an exchange that is best when the rich diversity of our perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences is allowed to flourish. To achieve this exchange, it is essential that each member of the community feels secure and welcome, that the contributions of every individual are respected, and that all voices, regardless of creed, color, nationality, or religion, are heard. All members of our community have a responsibility to uphold these values.

It is with these values in mind that Anastasia Selberis, Vice-President of the Global Perspective Institute executes her work at California Southern University. Ms. Selberis brings to CalSouthern a strong commitment to diversity, eradicating violent extremism, and promoting peace worldwide. CalSouthern’s Global Perspectives Institute fulfills the university’s mission statement of respecting diversity by establishing relations with international universities, corporations, and various communities that offer diverse educational pathways and career opportunities. Over the past three years, Ms. Selberis and CalPak Education Services, an alliance of Californian Americans and Pakistanis to promote education in underserved communities in Pakistan, have developed a collaboration aimed to provide quality, affordable, and online education and employment opportunities to the under-served communities of Pakistan.

Ms. Selberis is a member of the Interfaith Advisory Council for the OC Sheriff’s Department, a resource on an everyday basis and in times of crisis. She is a member on the Advisory Board for the Olive Tree Initiative, a university-based organization whose mission is to promote conflict analysis and resolution through rigorous academic preparation, experiential education and leadership development. She also is a board member for CalPak Education Services.
