August ’11 Library News - Summer Reading

Aug 30, 2011 by University Communications

While summer may be waning, doing a little additional reading to keep up to speed in the topic areas about which you’re most passionate is always in season. And, thanks to our continually updated ebook databases, you’ll never experience a shortage in relevant reading material.

PsycBOOKS is a robust collection of more than 1,600 full-text ebooks published by the American Psychological Association. You’ll also find classic books from other publishers, along with more than 1,500 titles from the APA/Oxford University Press Encyclopedia of Psychology. There are even out-of-print books dating back to 1707.

PsycBOOKS adds books to the database monthly; you can check out the new titles here.

Books24x7 BusinessPro’s database houses more than 6,000 business and law-oriented ebooks from publishers such as Harvard Business School Press, John Wiley & Sons, McGraw-Hill, and Oxford University. You’ll also find titles relating to professional development and career advancement, as well as a wide variety of current corporate case studies.

Like PsycBOOKS, Books24x7 BusinessPro is regularly updated. In fact, new entries to the database can be accessed weekly by clicking here.

To give you a jump-start in compiling your reading list, and to give you a feel for the breadth of resources these databases add each month, please find a list of just a few of the recently added titles of interest to CalSouthern Learners. (Please remember, access to the databases is limited to CalSouthern Learners, faculty mentors, and staff.)
