More than 700 graduates, family members, friends, faculty and other academic staff convened on Saturday, August 8 at the Irvine Barclay Theatre for California Southern University’s 37th annual commencement ceremony.
California Southern University academic advisors Toby Spiegel, PsyD, and Amber Artiaga, MBA, have each been selected to receive a Wesley R. Habley Summer Institute Scholarship by the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).
California Southern University has named Dr. Gregory D. Herbert dean of the university’s School of Business. Dr. Herbert comes to CalSouthern from Trident University International, where he served as a professor, program director, student policy director, associate dean and dean of the university’s School of Business and Information Systems.
California Southern University has been recognized as one of the 2014 Best Places to Work in Orange County. The annual survey and awards program is conducted by the Orange County Business Journal and Best Companies Group.
California Southern University has named Judge David Widmaier the recipient of the 2014 CalSouthern Difference Award. Judge Widmaier will be presented with the award at the university’s 2014 commencement ceremony, to be held at the Irvine Barclay Theatre on August 2.
Dr. James E. Shaw, a nationally recognized expert in youth and adolescent violence, believes that “spring fever” can lead victims of bullying to carry out unpredictable acts of violence late in the school year.
