Dr. Lori Aleknavicius is currently a full-time faculty mentor at California Southern University. She has 15 years of experience teaching graduate, masters and doctorate level psychology courses at various universities. Dr. Aleknavicius is a clinical psychologist who holds licenses in the states of California, Wisconsin and Minnesota. She has acquired 18 years of clinical experience working in various settings including inpatient hospital programs, partial hospitalization programs, outpatient clinics, eating disorder clinics, substance abuse treatment programs and adolescent group homes. Dr. Lori Aleknavicius and her husband, Dr. Patrick Aleknavicius operate two psychology practices – one in Minnesota and one in California – where they offer individual therapy, group therapy, psychological testing and social skills training to clients. Dr. Aleknavicius also regularly presents to the community at large on topics pertaining to mental health awareness, healthy self-care, emotional processing, assertive communication and proactive coping skills. She firmly believes in giving back to the community and is an advocate for having more conversations to raise awareness about the topic of mental health.
Dr. Lori Aleknavicius is married with three children. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, taking care of her pets (dogs, cats, horses), enjoying the outdoors, exercising, the practice of yoga, reading and traveling.
