Dr. Gregory D. Herbert, Dean of the School of Business
Prior to his tenure at CalSouthern, Dr. Gregory D. Herbert had a long and distinguished career in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel after 22 years. A radar navigator on a B-52 crew, Dr. Herbert served his country on deployments to Egypt and Kuwait.
It was during his military career that Dr. Herbert’s lifelong love of learning first developed. While in the Air Force, he earned his BS in mathematics from Florida State University, his MBA from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and his EdD from George Washington University. Dr. Herbert also taught military strategy courses at Air University’s Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama, and re-designed the institution’s distance-learning curriculum.
Dr. Herbert came to CalSouthern from Trident University International, where he worked for more than a dozen years in a variety of different roles. He was a professor, program director and student policy director before being appointed associate dean and, later, dean of the university’s College of Business Administration and Information Systems.
