Nicholas Rego, JD
My CalSouthern Experience
I am more than satisfied with my experience at the California Southern University School of Law. The curriculum was every bit as rigorous as that found at prestigious “brick and mortar” law schools—usually using the same casebooks—and the faculty was experienced and knowledgeable. The deans were always available to provide any assistance I needed throughout the program.
Nick Rego currently serves as both the chief financial officer and the chief legal compliance officer for the international financial services firm Numis Securities, Inc, based out of London, England. In this role, he is responsible to the Securities and Exchange Commission and financial regulators for all of the financial and legal reporting for the firm. Additionally, he interfaces with the regulators for the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba and Alberta, as well as Hong Kong and the FCA in the United Kingdom.
Nick has been a certified public account in the states of New York and New Jersey for more than 30 years, having spent the first seven years of his professional career at the firm of KPMG. He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts, as well as the state societies of both New York and New Jersey.
Nick participates in numerous educational initiatives with federal agencies, as well as with a number of local CPA firms, law firms, and financial services entities. He maintains a reputation as a “go-to guy” for financial and regulatory interpretations.
Nick received his BA in accounting and economics from Rutgers University. Earning his Juris Doctor from California Southern University in 2014 was a long-standing dream which he views as the ultimate finishing school for his professional life.
Nick has been married for over 25 years to his wife Vicky, and has one child, Jeffrey. He resides in New Jersey and enjoys travel and photography.
