This course focuses on fundamental approaches of the mediation process by exploring the various forms and stages of mediation - regardless of style, as well as the communication and strategic skills of effective mediators. Topics include barriers to conflict resolution integrative negotiation, impact of cultural differences on conflict resolution and ethical challenges in mediation.

3 - Evaluate the essential traits and skills of a mediator.
4 - Examine and understand the role and ethical demands of the third party neutral.
5 - Evaluate cases that equip learners to be better negotiators and case evaluator in a traditional client representation capacity.
6 - Evaluate the impact of various channels of communication.
7 - Evaluate and understand the appropriate strategies and techniques for overcoming barriers through mediation in a conflict situation.
8 - Evaluate and analyze the basic structure, elements and strategies involved in mediating conflicts between parties.
