School of Behavioral Sciences Faculty
The faculty mentors in CalSouthern’s School of Behavioral Sciences are skilled and experienced clinicians as well as dedicated, responsive and highly credentialed educators.
They will be there for you—via phone, email or Skype—to answer any questions you may have and to help you master the course material. And, equally important, they will help you take the concepts you learn and apply them to resolve challenges commonly faced in clinical practice today.
CalSouthern’s faculty mentors are positive, encouraging and supportive—and entirely dedicated to your academic and professional success.

Dr. Allen has been a Licensed Clinical Psychologist since 1976. He has had extensive training in such fields as Ericksonian Hypnosis, Gestalt Psychotherapy, and biofeedback, among others.
Dr. Allen was in private practice for nearly 20 years, first as an individual practitioner and then with his wife. He created the Pomona Valley Psychological Center, a multi-faceted facility serving San Gabriel Valley residents, providing therapeutic services on an outpatient and inpatient basis. All ages, from single to multi-family, were accepted for therapy including biofeedback, group, and medical referrals to two on-staff psychiatrists. The staff grew to 17, which included Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Clinical Social Therapists, biofeedback therapists, Licensed Clinical Psychologists, and psychiatrists.
He is happy to be mentoring at CalSouthern, energetically working with Learners who are seeking to “find their potential and place in life.” He believes in lifelong education and lives by this wonderful thought from an unknown author: “Life’s beauty lies not in its capture, but in its pursuit.”
At the present time, Dr. Allen is preparing himself to enter the “final triad” of his life (a la Jung) and relishes the opportunity to mentor CalSouthern Learners.
