The faculty mentors in CalSouthern’s School of Behavioral Sciences are skilled and experienced clinicians as well as dedicated, responsive and highly credentialed educators.
They will be there for you—via phone, email or Skype—to answer any questions you may have and to help you master the course material. And, equally important, they will help you take the concepts you learn and apply them to resolve challenges commonly faced in clinical practice today.

Nancy Miller, PsyD
Areas of Interest and Expertise
Dr. Nancy Miller has more than 30 years of successful leadership and management experience providing comprehensive mental health services in federal, state, international and private settings. She is a licensed professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, school psychologist and school counselor.
Dr. Miller is a national board-certified counselor and disaster mental health responder who has partnered with military personnel, law enforcement professionals, medical support teams and non-government organizations providing national and international relief. She has responded to incidents including Operation Desert Storm, Hurricane Katrina, the Virginia Tech University tragedy, Haiti’s 2010 earthquake and Orlando’s Pulse Nightclub shooting.
Dr. Miller is the recipient of The President’s Award for Doctoral Project Excellence, California Southern University, 2015. She also has served on California Southern University’s Advisory Board for the School of Behavioral Sciences.
Dr. Miller maintains a private practice in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. She currently works with a broad spectrum of clients specializing in individual and couples therapy for adults. Her areas of expertise are anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, parenting concerns, trauma and adjustment to life's transitions.
Dr. Miller and her husband enjoy attending professional sports and cultural events in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. As a military family, they have had unique experiences living in diverse cultures and traveling abroad. Currently, Dr. Miller enjoys visiting her adult children and their families. She revels in outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and walking with her canine partner "JD," who is a certified therapy dog through Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
