PSY 86509 Psychology of Marriage and Family Systems

Credits : 3

This course covers assessment, diagnosis, and intervention strategies for individuals, couples, families, and children according to the systemic and evidence-based application of psychodynamic, humanistic, communication, experiential, cognitive behavioral, and integrative models. It examines couple and family relationship systems and focuses on communicative, structural, emotional and behavioral patterns and the assessment of normal and dysfunctional patterns. Ethical issues and multicultural perspectives will also be considered.
