Dr. Alana Atchison, PsyD

Dr. Alana Atchison is a Board-Certified Clinical Psychologist and educator whose work bridges academic scholarship, clinical practice, and community advocacy. She has over a decade of experience providing psychotherapy, supervision, and training across private practice and community-based settings. As the founder of her own practice, Dr. Atchison specializes in helping adults navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic stress, and relationship challenges through evidence-based and holistic approaches.
In higher education, Dr. Atchison teaches and mentors at the doctoral level, guiding students in research, scholarship, and clinical development. She has chaired dissertations, advised emerging clinicians, and created engaging coursework that integrates clinical expertise with cultural responsiveness. Her scholarship has been featured at national conferences and in professional publications, with recent work focusing on chronic stress, cultural identity, and assertive communication as pathways to healing.
Dr. Atchison previously served in leadership with the American Board of Clinical Psychology as Board Secretary and Northeast Region Director, and she has been recognized with awards including the Early Career Psychologist Service Award. She is also active in community education, leading workshops and public presentations on mental health, chronic stress, and wellness for diverse audiences.
