Dr. Ja'Net Howard, PsyD
School of Behavioral Sciences
Dr. Ja’Net Howard is an Administrative Faculty member in the Behavioral Sciences program. She oversees adjunct and part-time faculty around their teaching, mentoring, and supervision of students. Dr. Howard has extensive experience with teaching, mentoring, clinical supervision of students, and clinical practice in a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, residential and therapeutic educational settings.
Dr. Ja’Net Howard is a Board Certified Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey. Dr. Howard specializes in working with children, adolescents, families and African American women. She has extensive clinical experience in working with ADHD, depression, anxiety, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and behavioral disorders, and she is also a Consultant to several school systems, mental health agencies, and colleagues.
Dr. Howard became Board Certified in Clinical Psychology with the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in November 2013, and she has also presented on the assessing, diagnosing, and treatment of several childhood disorders. In addition to presenting at APA on an integrative treatment model for psychotherapy, Dr. Howard most recently presented on best practices and evidence-based treatment interventions when working with LGBTQ+ youth at her local psychology community. With regards to publishing, Dr. Howard has several books in press, including working with African American women and improving self-esteem.
With regards to teaching, Dr. Howard has extensive experience with teaching Diversity, Child and Adolescent Psychopathology, Adult Psychopathology, Objective Personality Assessment, Child and Adolescent Assessment and Therapy, Diagnostic Interviewing, Cognitive Assessment and Integrative Report Writing. She also has experience with case conceptualization skills and treatment planning. In addition to teaching, Dr. Howard also has extensive experience with Clinical Training, and she has been the Director of Clinical Training (DCT) for several PsyD programs, and she has experience with the clinical supervision of students.
