AIUS Launches Inaugural Issue of Its Academic Journal, Marking a Major Milestone
The American InterContinental University System (AIUS) is proud to announce the launch of the AIUS Journal of Research & Scholarship, with the publication of its very first edition: Volume 1, Issue 1. This new, open-access, peer-reviewed journal represents a significant step forward for the university’s research and academic community, offering faculty, students, and external scholars a platform for scholarly expression and exploration.
“We're thrilled to launch this new journal, which represents a bold step forward for AIUS,” said Dr. Amanda Jandris, the journal’s Editor-in-Chief and Dean of Research and Doctoral Studies. “This has been a true team effort,” she added, acknowledging the valuable contributions of associate editors Tabitha Dillon and Dr. Edward Lavieri, along with the dedicated members of the Editorial Board. “I’m excited for what lies ahead and deeply proud of what we’ve already accomplished together.”
The AIUS Journal of Research & Scholarship is scheduled to publish biannually—in April and October—and aims to be an inclusive platform. It welcomes a wide range of submissions including original research studies, review articles, theoretical essays, scholarly commentaries, and even creative works. Importantly, the journal is not limited to internal contributors; it is open to scholars from outside the AIUS system as well.
The launch of this journal is more than just a new academic initiative—it reflects AIUS’s deep commitment to fostering research, encouraging publication, and making scholarly work accessible to all. As Dr. Jandris noted, “From the moment we proposed this idea for an academic journal, the AIUS leadership was supportive and enthusiastic. It’s exciting to work in an environment where academic scholarship is valued.”
Associate Editor Dr. Edward Lavieri echoed this sentiment, expressing admiration for the submissions received and gratitude toward the editorial team. “I am deeply impressed by the quality, depth, and originality of the submissions. The collective commitment made this first edition not only possible but truly exceptional.”
The journal’s development has been a grassroots effort, managed voluntarily by AIUS staff members passionate about research and academic growth. Alongside Dr. Jandris and Dr. Lavieri, Tabitha Dillon—Director of Library and Learning Services—has played a crucial role in launching the journal. “As a librarian, I take great pride in launching an open-access, peer-reviewed journal by AIUS that celebrates academic scholarship and ensures that knowledge is freely available and accessible to everyone,” said Ms. Dillon.
This initiative is more than just a publication—it’s a reflection of AIUS’s core values: equity in knowledge dissemination, support for scholarly endeavors, and a commitment to nurturing an academic culture. The first issue of the AIUS Journal of Research & Scholarship is now available online, and AIUS welcomes future submissions from academics, practitioners, and students alike.
