Live, Virtual Events Address Needs in the Workforce

COSTA MESA, Calif. (Dec. 1, 2021) – California Southern University announces two live events to create open discussions on issues currently facing working professionals.

The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice Department Chair Jeffrey Gross, MPA will facilitate a conversation on Addressing the Emotional Stress of Law Enforcement Personnel. The event covers staggering statistics on how the mental health of law enforcement officers is impacted by their work, but the majority of those impacted struggle to receive the support needed. Mr. Gross will cover the many reasons for this situation in an eye-opening dialog with participants. The full event can be streamed now.

Separately, School of Nursing Department Chair Johanna Bruner, MS, RN, FNP, will lead a discussion on Reclaiming Wellness: How Nursing Professionals Can Achieve Work-Life Balance in a Changing World. As a critical force in healthcare throughout the pandemic, nursing professionals have experienced extensive added pressure while at work. Johanna covered this and several other contributing factors that impact the ongoing shortage of nurses. The full event can be streamed now.
